The TUF Legacy Fund is a long-term scholarship initiative created to ensure that every young athlete on Maui has access to world-class training, mentorship, and athletic development, regardless of financial circumstance. Built on the values of excellence, discipline, mentorship, and opportunity, the Fund provides sustainable support for the TUF Legacy Scholarship, which offers unlimited access to performance training at TUF Fieldhouse. Through the generosity of community donors, the TUF Legacy Fund removes financial barriers, empowers deserving youth to pursue their potential, and drives generational change by investing in Maui’s future leaders, athletes, and role models.

Each donor is honored with a custom metal dog tag engraved with their name, donor tier, impact statement, and year of contribution, symbolizing their commitment to creating access and opportunity for the next generation. Displayed prominently within the TUF Fieldhouse, the Legacy Wall reflects the collective strength of our community and the belief that every young athlete deserves the chance to grow, develop, and excel. Every tag represents a story, a gift, and a legacy that will continue to shape the lives of Maui’s youth for years to come.

What is the TUF Legacy Scholarship?

The TUF Legacy Scholarship provides selected youth athletes with unlimited training access and full membership at TUF Fieldhouse, including strength, speed, agility, and performance development programs.

How does my donation make an impact?

Each donor tier directly corresponds to a specific number of months of full access for a scholarship recipient. For example:

Bronze ($300) → 1 month of access
Silver ($825) → 3 months
Gold ($1,500) → 6 months
Platinum ($2,700) → 12 months
Legacy Founder ($5,000+) → Supports as many athletes as possible

Are my donations tax-deductible?

Yes. The Underdog Foundation (TUF) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

How are scholarship athletes selected?

Recipients are chosen using a Hybrid Criteria Model that evaluates:

Financial need
Character and behavior
Commitment to training
Coachability and work ethic
Maui residency

Applications are reviewed by TUF leadership and approved by the Board of Directors.

What does the scholarship include?

Scholarship recipients receive:

Unlimited classes at Dickson Performance
Full TUF Fieldhouse membership
Access to mentorship and leadership workshops
Semi-annual evaluations and personalized development support

What is the Legacy Wall?

The TUF Legacy Wall is a permanent installation at TUF Fieldhouse that honors all donors who contribute to the Legacy Fund.
Each donor receives a custom engraved dog tag that displays:

Year of contribution

How often are donors recognized?

Donors are recognized annually on the Legacy Wall and receive updates through the TUF Annual Impact Report.

Can I set up recurring monthly or quarterly donations?

Yes. The Legacy Fund accepts monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual contributions across all donor tiers.

When does the TUF Legacy Fund officially launch?

The official public launch is scheduled for 2026, with preparatory development and soft outreach taking place throughout 2025.

How many scholarships will be awarded each year?

The number of scholarships depends entirely on donor support. Each contribution directly increases the number of athletes we can serve.

Can businesses or organizations contribute?

Yes. Corporate giving, sponsorships, and group contributions are welcomed and can be recognized on the Legacy Wall.

How can families apply for a TUF Legacy Scholarship?

An online application will be available on the TUF website. Required components include:

Personal essay
Parent/guardian statement
Recommendation letter
Income verification
Goal-setting form
